This is a new installation of SQL Server 2012 on Server 2012 R2 for testing out Sharepoint Foundation 2013. I went through all of the tutorials online in regards to installing, setup a SQL user account for the dbengine and agent services and assigned them accordingly. Now after the installation is complete I cannot connect to the dbengine in SSMS using either of the accounts using Windows Authentication (cannot change from the domain Admin everything greyed out) and any using SQL authentication. I went in and enabled the sa account and added a password starting the dbengine in maintenance mode, but that login fails as well. This Sharepoint setup has been a huge PITA and why on earth MS doesn't script the entire thing is beyond me.
