I'm having a bit of a strange issue.
I have a Windows 2012R2 failover cluster running SQL Server 2012 instance
We have web application servers in a DMZ, and are using HOSTS file for pointing the servers at the cluster name and IP address. Everything works until the cluster is failed over to the secondary node. The DMZ servers are unable to connect afterwards.
Domain joined application servers (for internal use) are able to connect to the SQL instance after a failover.
Do I just need to allow DNS through to the DMZ, rather than using a HOSTS file?
