In August I had a drive failure in my RAID configuration, just as we were moving data from a shared application server to individual VM's on a new server. The week became hectic, to say the least! LOL
The shared application server was running SQL 2005 Standard. Four of the five applications still run SQL 2005 on their own VM. Those four are happy...
My problem is that we downloaded the trial version of SQL 2008 R2 for a single VM. That VM runs a third party platform that takes care of all (and Imean ALL) of the financials for this small municipality I support. Right on cue, the trial version expired at 12:06 February 17, EXACTLY 180 days from it's installation.
The issue I'm faced with is an entire financial department dead in the water. Purchasing a retail license for SQL 2008 R2 has turned out to be a real pain. I can't really...
