sql server error

i have sql server 2008 r2 version 10.50.1600. with the default

instance (mssqlserver)  and an sql server 2012 with an instance name of 

(mssqlserver\mysql)  installed on a windows server 2008 r2 box

i am trying to reconnect a share point 2013 farm using the share point product and configuration wizard.

problem is whenever i key in the name of the windows sql server 2012 and the

instance name as well as the default share point_config database. it always

gives the below error message. always pointing back to the unsupported

sql server 2008 r2
